Media Release: Cincinnatians for Progress Applauds the CityFor Immediate Release: May 3, 2011 Contact: Rob Richardson richardson.rob@gmail.com, 513.503.8228 cell Cincinnatians for Progress Applauds the City Cincinnatians for Progress applauds Mayor Mallory's announcement today that the City of Cincinnati is moving ahead with its plan to build a network of rail transit starting downtown and expanding throughout our city over time. Rob Richardson, Cincinnatians for Progress Co-Chair comments, "This is the first step in building rail in the community. It is important for our City to have the ability to create jobs, invest in infrastructure, improve economic development and attract talent to our region." Richardson continues, "It is vital for the City to be able begin the project and not allow outside groups to handcuff the City's ability to create to create rail in Cincinnati." Cincinnatians for Progress is a diverse group of people who live and work in this region and are committed to building public support for initiatives that promote progress for our City. We were formed to defeat the Anti-Progress Charter Amendment that would hand-cuff our City and prevent our region from moving forward with critical transportation plans that create jobs and make Cincinnati more economically competitive. - 30 -
